Someone owes Tyler Perry a whole lot of money!!!

Okay, now on to the reason I’m writing. I’ve got a little dilemma. A few years ago a friend of mine came to me and she said that she and her husband were having some financial problems and that they needed to borrow some money. Now this was a large sum of money. I said, “You want to ‘borrow’ the money?” She said, “Yes! I promise that, I will pay you back in six to eight months.”

Now before you start judging me about this let me just say at this point that I don’t care about the money. I really don’t. I have built over thirty houses for Katrina victims and others. I have given away cars and paid for the education of lots of people, built churches and so on, so it’s not about the money. But anyway back to what I was saying.

She asked me not to tell her husband because she didn’t want him to know about the financial position that she had gotten them into. Needless to say, it’s been almost three years and she has still not paid me a dime.

Now listen, here’s the catch. Every time I see her husband he is telling me about the new car they have bought or the new multi-million dollar house that they have bought and I’m very short with him because I don’t know what to say. It’s not like she said, “Give me the money.” She said, “Let me borrow it.”

So, one day I was driving down the street and he spotted my car. He tried to flag me down. I kept going because people are always trying to flag me down. Also I didn’t recognize the car that he was driving because it was another new expensive car that they had apparently bought. Anyway he caught up to me at the light and he went off on me saying how I have changed and that I used to be so cool with them but now I won’t take his phone calls. He went off! I kept my cool but that 3rd Ward of New Orleans was about to creep up at that red light. Well, the light changed and he drove off just in time.

So my dilemma is this, do I tell him that his wife borrowed all this money and dodged my phone calls for a year until I stopped calling her or do I just leave it alone and walk away?

I don’t have a whole lot of friends and it ain’t cool loosing them over money.

‘Jena 6′s’ Mychal Bell agrees to a plea deal…

The fact that this young man has been incarcerated for the past 11 months is outlandish and a complete violation of his civil rights. Jena definitely has inched up the ladder on the “Most Racist Towns” in America list. Anyway on to the news…

Mychal Bell, the 17-year-old black teenager whose arrest and detention led to the “Jena 6″ protests, has agreed to a plea deal that could lead to his release by June, his lawyer said Monday.

Bell was originally charged as an adult with attempted murder in an assault on a white fellow student, Justin Barker, at Jena High School in 2006.

He was convicted of second-degree battery, but the verdict was tossed out in September when an appeals court ruled that Bell, who was 16 at the time of the attack, should not have been tried as an adult. He still faced charges in the juvenile system.

Under the deal announced Monday, the LaSalle Parish District Attorney’s Office agreed to drop charges of aggravated battery and conspiracy to commit aggravated battery.

Bell agreed to plead guilty to second-degree battery.

He had to agree that he “hit Justin Barker, knocking him unconscious,” a Bell attorney said.

Bell would be sentenced to 18 months of custody in an unsupervised setting, such as a group home or a halfway house.

In addition, Bell would be required to pay $935 to Barker’s family and court costs, his lawyer said. (Are you serious??? SMH)

Barker’s family has said his medical bills reached $12,000, but prosecutors apparently plan to seek money from five other black students also implicated in the beating.

Bell would have to testify in those cases as part of any plea deal.

Bell and the other five students, dubbed the “Jena 6,” were originally charged in adult court with attempted murder and conspiracy.

The charges were later reduced to battery and conspiracy, and Bell is the only one of the youths to remain in jail.

Bell was convicted of the charges against him in July. But judges overturned both convictions, finding that the cases should have been brought in juvenile court.

Although he was released in September after his adult conviction was overturned, Bell was ordered two weeks later to spend 18 months in a juvenile facility for a probation violation relating to an earlier juvenile conviction.

A lawyer for Bell said his client wants to go back to high school, where he was a football star, but “probably not in Jena.”

The fight came after months of racial tension in the town, fueled by white teens who hung nooses from an oak tree on the town’s high school grounds. But prosecutors have said there was no “direct linkage” between the hanging of the nooses and the schoolyard attack that left Barker with injuries to both eyes and ears, as well as cuts.

An estimated 15,000-plus demonstrators marched through Jena, about 200 miles northwest of New Orleans, in September to protest local authorities’ handling of the case.

Tina Corwin, mother of Bryant Purvis, another of the Jena 6, said she was shocked by the plea deal and said her son will not plead guilty to anything.

Imus is back.

Don Imus returned to the airwaves Monday eight months after he was fired for a racially charged remark about the Rutgers women’s basketball team, and introduced a new cast that included two black comedians.

Imus’ lineup of guests featured two presidential hopefuls, Democrat Chris Dodd and Republican John McCain. As he did several times in the days after the episode, Imus condemned his controversial remark last spring and said he had learned his lesson.

“I didn’t see any point in going on some sort of `Larry King’ tour to offer a bunch of lame excuses for making an essentially reprehensible remark about innocent people who did not deserve to be made fun of,” he said Monday during his debut on WABC-AM.

Again, Imus apologized to the basketball players and called the ensuing furor a “life-changing experience.”

“I will never say anything in my lifetime that will make any of these young women at Rutgers regret or feel foolish that they accepted my apology and forgave me,” he said. “And no one else will say anything else on my program that will make anyone think that I didn’t deserve a second chance.“

His debut Monday completed a comeback that seemed improbable at the height of the uproar last spring over his calling the players “nappy-headed hos.” CBS Radio fired him on April 12, pulling the plug on his “Imus In the Morning” program that had aired on more than 70 stations and the MSNBC cable network.

Phylicia Rashad is still bangin!!!

Phylicia Rashad is still one of the most banging women to have ever graced a tv screen. Famous for her wholesome role as Claire Huxtable on the Cosby Show, Phylicia hasn’t really been on the big screen (although she deserves to). Phylicia is currently in a Shakespere play at the Lincoln Center. She may soon be in a production by her sister Debbie Allen. Oh by the way her ex husband Ahmad Rashad recently got married a few weeks ago.

Stephon Marbury loses his father.

Sad news struck Steph0n Marbury yesterday. Marbury’s 69 year old father Donald Marbury was escorted out of the Garden yesterday after supposedly complaining of chest pains. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died of a heart attack.

Stephon learned of his father’s sudden death after their loss to pheonix. He was then escorted out of the Garden by 5 security guards.

Our condolences go out to Stephon in his time of grief.

Jermaine doesn’t want Janet performing with her brothers.

The Jacksons are in the process of putting together a 40 city tour and Janet has stated that she would participate in a few of the performances, but insiders are saying that her fiance Jermaine Dupri is against her doing it because of all the bad press Michael has received. He doesn’t want that to hurt Janet’s image. So Jermaine wants Janet to just jump in the studio and start on her next album that will be released on Island Def Jam.
