Paul McCartney will pay over $108million in divorce settlement

Posted by Media Outrage on February 19, 2008

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills

Paul McCartney has agreed to pay ex-wife Heather Mills over $108million for just 4 years of marriage. Those are class action lawsuit winnings.

Via Nydailynews:

“Two years after their highly publicized plans for a divorce were announced, Sir Paul has agreed to give Mills more than $108 million – a tidy $27 million for every year of their marriage, London’s Daily Mail reported.

Mills, 40, will pocket a nearly $40 million lump sum, with $5 million annual payments until their 4-year-old daughter Beatrice reaches 18.

The settlement was huge but almost peanuts compared with the nearly $1.5 billion U.S. media magnate Sumner Redstone coughed up to his ex-wife, Phyllis, in 2001 after he got caught cavorting with a young model.

Other big-bucks settlements have included Chicago energy magnate Michael Polsky, $184 million; hoops legend Michael Jordan, $168 million; singer Neil Diamond, $150 million, and golfer Greg Norman and director Steven Spielberg, $100 million each.

As part of the deal, Mills agreed to never speak publicly or write in detail about the breakdown of the marriage, according to the Daily Mail.”

SMH at these power ball jackpot lottery winning settlements.

J-Lo to get $4million for baby pictures

Posted by Media Outrage on February 19, 2008

J Lo

Imnotobsessed is reporting that J-Lo will get $4million for first dibs on exclusive pictures of her twins after they are born. That’s good money for an already established cash cow. This should definitely give potential jump-offs even more motivation to get pregnant by their athlete, actor, or rapper boyfriends. That coupled with a nice child support check could have them living the glamorous life for a while.

Publicist daughter admits she had affair with R.Kelly

Posted by Media Outrage on February 19, 2008

gdaniels-mdaniels-rkelly.jpg

Maxine Daniels who is the daughter of George Daniels and step-daughter of R.Kelly’s former publicist Regina Daniels who resigned abruptly a few months ago declaring that R.Kelly had crossed the line, has admitted that she had an affair with Kelly. Here’s what she had to say…..

“The statement that was issued by R. Kelly’s camp to TMZ, which I interpreted as an attempt to defame Regina and George Daniels, my dad and stepmom, has made it necessary for me to respond to some of those accusations: I take full responsibility for my actions. My stepmother and father didn’t know about my relationship with the singer because I knew and he knew that they wouldn’t approve … so I tried to keep it a secret, but when my stepmother found out about our relationship, she resigned because she felt that Rob had ‘crossed the line’ by dating a girl that he has known since she was 7 years old. My stepmom was not fired for incompetence. She was Rob’s publicist for 14 years and always considered Rob not just a client … but family. And Rob thought of my dad like a father.

I am 21, smart and will be graduating from college this year, but I admit that I was swept up by his charming and generous ways, which I truly regret and have learned from. My brief relationship with Kelly last year ended because my parents were starting to hear rumors that we were together, and I was beginning to feel like it wasn’t a healthy situation, especially with the pain it was causing me and my family. I felt that it just wasn’t right. Also, in reference to my birthday party, which was held last spring, Regina did not push Rob to host the party. We both asked him … and he readily agreed.

In regards to the cell phone number, Regina didn’t give me Rob’s number and she didn’t ask me not to tell my dad. Rob personally slipped me his number at another event and that is how we started talking. The Internet has been rampant with all sorts of rumors for months now and hopefully this will clear things up. I admit I made a mistake and I know I am not the first young adult to make a serious misjudgment.”

Well there you have it she has cleared everything up.

Coco talks about her favorite sexual position

Posted by Media Outrage on February 19, 2008

Coco and Ice T

Coco did an interview with Playboy.com and had some salacious things to say about her sex life with Ice. We spotted this over at Necolebitchie.

What’s your favorite sexual position?Coco: I love doggy style. But he gets to see more of it, so I like mirrors. We have a wall of mirrors facing the bed. He’s always got a better view; so sometimes he’ll take pictures for me, so I can see it from his view. We get aroused by that stuff. I’m not the kind of person who gets turned on by other people; he’s the same way, too. We like watching ourselves.

Tyler Perry is bringing Madea to cartoon.

Via EW:

“Tyler Perry is teaming with animation company Exodus Film Group to adapt his Madea character into an animated series. The writer-director-actor will executive produce 22 episodes of the series for distribution on a television network, on DVD, or both. Mabel ”Madea” Simmons was originally a character in a play by Perry and has previously been adapted into hit movies, including Madea’s Family Reunion and Diary of a Mad Black Woman. The next Madea feature, Meet the Browns, is due out next month. The series will be the first foray into animation for Perry, who says his plan is to adapt the more adult-oriented Madea into something more suitable for a younger audience”

Tyra from model to mogul

Posted by Media Outrage on February 19, 2008

Tyra

Tyra Banks covers the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. In the article she had some interesting things to say about her journey from model to mogul.

On her being a mogul….

”Oprah Winfrey is a mogul. Martha Stewart is a mogul. I’m probably a mogul in the making. I’m almost there.”

Life after modeling….

‘Even as a model I used to think ‘brand. My mom always told me, ‘Plan for the end at the beginning. You’re gonna have to retire really early like an athlete, and then what are you gonna do after?’ So I always looked at it knowing that there was something after.”

On the Oprah comparisons….

‘In the beginning, I used to hate it. I used to cry at night just because of the pressure. And I didn’t want her thinking that I was saying it. It’s flattering. [But] if I was white, I don’t think they’d be saying it. I think a lot of it has to do with being a black woman.”

“Banks considers herself more akin to Martha Stewart and Donald Trump. To that end, her latest development is Bankable Enterprises, created to move the mini-mogul into arenas like real estate. Banks also mentions ideas for amusement parks and Broadway shows. (”I’m always looking at how I can be atypical,” she says.) In the meantime, her Bankable Productions’ film-and-TV-development slate is stocked thanks to a hefty deal with Warner Bros. Entertainment last year.”

She’s definitely a mogul in the making. We’re getting a little Kobe Bryant vibe here. She knows she loves being compared to Oprah who wouldn’t? We understand she is trying to carve out her own niche but let’s face it there’s no one better to be mentioned in the same sentence with.

Jason Kidd traded to Dallas

Posted by Media Outrage on February 19, 2008

Jason Kidd

The deal has been done and Jay Kidd should be in a Dallas uniform tonight.

Via Nydailynews:

“with Kidd, forward Malik Allen and swingman Antoine Wright going from New Jersey to Dallas in exchange for 24-year-old point guard Devin Harris, forwards DeSagana Diop and Trenton Hassell, guard Maurice Ager, two future first-round draft picks, $3 million and semi-retired former Net Keith Van Horn, whose rights the Mavericks own.

The latest holdup was due to the fact that Van Horn had to agree to report to Nets camp even if he has no intention of playing for the team. In order to include him in the deal, the Mavericks signed him to a three-year contract, with $4.3 million guaranteed this season. Since the league wants to be sure there are no salary cap shenanigans going on, it is requiring Van Horn to stay with the Nets for at least a month.

Though Van Horn would receive a huge payoff for doing virtually nothing, there was no guarantee he was going to be willing to agree. Since he’s already earned more than $80 million over the course of nine seasons, money may not be an issue for him. However, it looks as if he’s now a willing participant.”

The deal should be approved by the NBA today during a conference call and the trade will be officially announced later today. We guess this will improve the Mavericks. They are giving up a lot for Jay Kidd.

Fidel Castro resigns as cuba’s president

Posted by Media Outrage on February 19, 2008

Fidel Castro

Fidel Castro resigned today as president of Cuba after 50 years of being in power the longest for any head of government. He says he will not accept a new term when parliment meets on Sunday.

“My wishes have always been to discharge my duties to my last breath, it would be a betrayal to my conscience to accept a responsibility requiring more mobility and dedication than I am physically able to offer.”

Castro temporarily ceded his powers to his brother on July 31, 2006, when he announced that he had undergone intestinal surgery. Since then, the elder Castro has not been seen in public, appearing only sporadically in official photographs and videotapes and publishing dense essays about mostly international themes as his younger brother has consolidated his rule.
