today is the day! i’m starting a 1200 cal diet plan. its feb 2nd, one month later than i originally intended. jan 2nd was the original date, but that never happened, obviously. i said to myself, ‘who cares about a diet?! history is being made, obama! obama! obama!’ as i went to one more celebratory dinner. i can still get into my skinny jeans, but they sho is tight! i gotta say i like my body this way, a little curvier, with more to hold onto and my man is not complaining, he’s very vocal about how he LOVES it. its that camera, that damn camera that adds 10 pounds and NOW the flat screen tv’s that tend to add another 10 pounds, that get me. i refuse to succumb to the fashionista pre-pubescent boy-look trend that is so prevalent. but the rock shirmp tempura has got to go, for now. : (

Taraji attended the Oscar Nominees Luncheon yesterday at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. We’re so happy for Taraji being nominated. Even if she doesn’t bring it home her career is really starting to propel.

Kobe dropped a record high 61 points in the garden last night on a 19-31 shooting exhibition. Kobe also went a perfect 20/20 from the free throw line. Back in 95′ Michael Jordan dropped 55 on the Knicks which was the record for that building. Bernard King threw up 60 back in 84′ and Kobe eclipsed both records last night in a remarkable jaw dropping performance. How many believe Kobe is the best player they have seen since the likes of Michael Jordan?

Erykah Badu gives birth to baby girl

Erykah Badu gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday morning at 1:30 PM in her Brooklyn home with the baby’s father Electronica and a midwife.

Badu added: “I can’t believe it’s over. Home birth, no painkillers, about five hours, she was a little past due date, but I didn’t mind waiting. Breath.”

Kwame Kilpatrick Released From Jail

Former Detroit Mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick was released from jail this morning after serving 99 days. He will remain on probation for 5 years.

Kwame Kilpatrick regained his freedom early Tuesday morning, emerging from jail after a 99-day sentence and stepping back onto the streets of the city he once ruled as mayor.

The 38-year-old Kilpatrick, about 25 pounds lighter than when he entered jail at the end of October, left the downtown Detroit facility wearing a dark suit just after 12:30 a.m.

On the sidewalk, Kilpatrick stood for a long moment amid bright television camera lights, a crush of awaiting reporters and swirling snowflakes, smiling occasionally to those in the crowd who called his name and shouted: “We love you, Kwame! Detroit loves you, baby!”
