Celebrities unite for telethon

Last night, the Stand Up To Cancer Telethon took over all three major networks at NBC, CBS, and ABC. More than 60 celebrities from music, sports, TV, and film showed up to make history. Beyonce, Halle Berry, Charles Barkley, Chris Tucker, Jennifer Aniston, Salma Hayek, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Forest Whitaker, Keanu Reeves, America Ferrera (Ugly Betty), BeBe Winans, Jennifer Garner and a few other stars all supported. Patrick Swayze diagnosed with cancer

Reports were swirling earlier today on the internet that actor Patrick Swayze had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and only had 5 weeks to live which thankfully might be untrue. Here is what Swayze’s doctor had to say…

“Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far,” Dr. George Fisher says in a statement. “All of the reports stating the time frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.”
The actor’s rep adds: “Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.”
