Mychal Bell’s Mother

Mychal Bell’s Mother Melissa Bell photographed with Rev. Al Sharpton.

Mychal Bell

Mychal Bell last Thursday when he was finally released from jail.

In an excellent interview with Essence Melissa Bell (Mychal Bell’s Mother) spoke on the serious situation down in Jena and how she feels since the release of her son. Here are some excerpts…. For months you had been fighting for your son’s freedom without success. What was your reaction when you learned that he would finally be released?

Melissa Bell: I didn’t want to get too excited until I saw that he was out. When we actually signed the papers to let him out that’s when I really got excited. We’re not fully celebrating because we still have a long way to go, but we were happy to go in there, put some clothes on him and walk him out. How is Mychal doing?

M.B.: He’s doing well. They have him under house arrest and he can’t go any farther than home, but all his friends have been visiting him. His first night home he watched TV all night with his friends and slept in the living room. He’s nervous, of course, because he has his juvenile court date on October 11, but he’s trying to enjoy his friends and not think about it. That’s what I told him, “Don’t think about it right now; let the lawyers do the thinking.” Are you surprised by the support you’ve received from around the country?

M.B.: I feel very good about it. It’s encouraging to know that so many people are standing behind you and still believe in helping each other. It’s great to see all the civil rights leaders, people in high places and all the thousands of people who came to the march. You sometimes forget that people still love each other like that. We need more of that in the world. How has this experience changed you?

M.B.: It opened my eyes to see that you can’t trust everybody because everybody’s not your friend. Things can happen to you in the blink of an eye. Your life can change in one day. It made me think about life more and getting my kids together and getting them right with God. We’re with God, but getting them straighter with God. And I realize that your kids can be taken from you with a stroke of a pen. And what about Mychal? Does he seem different?

M.B.: Yes, but not a lot different. He still likes having fun, talking and laughing with his friends, but being locked up for nine months made him grow up a lot quicker and become a man, a better person. He just knows how to handle life better. Have you talked to Mychal about staying out of trouble?

M.B.: Oh yes, we’ve been having those conversations for the last ten months. He knows not to get in trouble because he doesn’t want to go back to jail and he knows that people will be quick to get him back in there. He knows it won’t take much for him to end up in jail again. There are reports of White supremacist Web sites posting the addresses of the families of the Jena Six. Have you received any threats?

M.B.: I got a hateful letter addressed to Mychal. It didn’t have a (sender’s) name written on it, but it was from Virginia. Other than that, nobody’s bothering me. One of the parents, Bryant Purvis’s mother, got a phone call from some guy who left a message (threatening) her son. Are you concerned about anything happening to your family?

M.B: Not really. We have around-the-clock protection since Mychal’s been out. We have undercover state police around the area. This month, Mychal’s case will be tried in juvenile court. Do you think this trial will be different from the previous one?

M.B: Oh yes, I know it’s going to be different. I know that for a fact. I have an attorney that’s going to fight for Mychal. It isn’t like it was last summer. How was it last summer?

M.B.: It was an all-White trial. There weren’t but two Black faces throughout the trial and that was Mychal and the lawyer. The witnesses, the jurors, everybody was White. That was the first problem. The lawyer he had then was appointed to him and didn’t call any witnesses. I know the lawyers we have now are ready to take care of business and they will. What can people do to help?

M.B.: We’re still trying to get financial help. We will need to pay our legal team. Right now we have a bank account open for the Mychal Bell Defense Fund.

More From The World’s Greatest Ho…

Posted by Media Outrage on October 3, 2007

Karrine Steffans

Once again we cannot give enough props to Karrine Steffans aka Superhead’s publicist and publicity company (5wpr) for the amount of press they have gotten for America’s greatest ho in the wake of the release of her 2nd book “The Vixen Diaries”.

She’s done Wendy Williams, Jamie Foxx, and countless magazines. Well she’s back with another interview with Vibe that will hit stands in December.

In this interview she talks about her (delusional) relationship with Lil’ Wayne (Weezy). Here are some of the excerpts…

On loving Weezy:
It was hard at first because I had to learn how to love him, because he’s not like any other guy. It’s like he’s from another planet. When he wakes up in the morning, he may not talk to you. He might just get dressed and leave. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t love you, it just means he’s about to go work and he’s in his zone and his zone has nothing to do with you.”

On the nature of their relationship:
He’ll be 25 in two weeks and I’m 29, but I’m willing to wait until he’s ready. In the meantime, he’s like my best friend. He’s my John Lennon, I’m his Yoko Ono, and together, it just works.

On sex with Lil Wayne:
I can count on one hand how many times me and Wayne have had sex. That’s not what our relationship is based on. Seriously. When we do, we make love and it’s … amazing. It’s quiet. It’s slow. It’s full-contact. There’s no, ‘Flip over. Put your leg over here.’ It’s just two hearts. I can feel my heart beating against his heart, his whole body is wrapped around mine, and it’s us breathing together.

Is she really serious??? Or are we going to find out in a news report that she is being treated for bi-polar disorder??? Because isn’t she engaged to Darius Mcray??? Well that’s what was said on the interview with Wendy Williams monday. check that out again right here

Jury awards Anucha Browne Sanders $11.5million in punitive damages!

Posted by Media Outrage on October 3, 2007

Anucha Browne

Isiah Thomas

Yesterday the jury found Isiah Thomas guilty of Sexual Harrasment. Today the jury awarded Anucha Browne Sanders even more than she had originally wanted from The Knicks $11.5 million! She originally wanted $10million to resolve this case but the Knicks organization said (Heck No! let’s take this to trial she wont get a dime!) no. Well looks like they weren’t listening to Dionne Warick’s psychic channel.

Honestly, my head never left basketball. This is what I’ve done. This is what I do and this is what I think about the majority of the time,” Thomas said after the Knicks’ second day of training camp.

Thomas said a day after the verdict that he wasn’t worried about losing his job and didn’t even talk with the team about the trial before practice.

We know what Isiah and the gang at Madison Square Garden were thinking after loosing this case (Damn get Ms. Lewinsky on the phone and see if she wants to take a position here. Tell her not to worry about not having experience…she already has the kind of experience that we’re looking for…cause this bull ish will never happen again…where’s all these female rap groupies when you need them???)

Deelishis Talks Dirty…

Posted by Media Outrage on October 3, 2007

In A recent interview with SSX Black Men Magazine our girl Deelishis had this to say…

Black Men: What do you put on when you want to feel sexy?

Deelishis: Nothing. I like to lie on my bed in my birthday suit and rub myself gently from head to toe, taking a break when i get to my butt because that takes awhile. It’s better if you have a partner involved, but I find ways to do it alone.

Black Men: Would you ever allow your man to bring another woman to the bedroom?

Deelishis: No…well, I’m not sure. I haven’t experienced it yet but you never know.

Black Men: What are your hobbies and or interests outside of working?

Deelishis: Masturbating!!!!! She laughs

Lil’ Wayne talks Jay Z, 50 Cent, Rap Beef and more!

Posted by Media Outrage on October 3, 2007

Lil Wayne

In a recent interview with Vibe Lil’ Wayne had these things to say:

Do you listen to a lot of music?
Everybody who know me know you come around Wayne, you better not be trying to hear the latest hits from somebody’s album. ‘Cause when you listen to another niggas music you can get in that zone. Like I done listened to Hov and I didn’t wanna do nothing but get shot everyday, I didn’t wanna go to the studio. Hov wasn’t rapping about going to the studio. I stopped listening after The Black Album. I stopped listening to other people’s music.

Back in August, 50 Cent was talking trash about you jumping on everyone’s tracks.
You talking about 50 Cent from G Unit?
So you don’t have anything to say in response to him calling you a whore?
A person like 50 Cent say anything about me, you gotta understand, that’s what makes them who they are. So me getting mad, that would be outta Lil Wayne’s character. There’s been plenty of recorders right here in my face saying, What you think about such-and-such saying…? Nothing! I don’t think nothing! That ain’t me, I’m from New Orleans, man, we kill, for real, I’m not gonna stress that!
Speaking of stress, let’s talk about the incident when the cops pulled you over after your show on July 22, 2007, at the Beacon Theater in New York.
When they locked me up in New York and they asked me about Jay-Z, 50 Cent, G Unit and no fucking gun or weed like they made it look like on TV? Ask me what I told them – Nigga, I’m from New Orleans! I will murder ya’ll up in this bitch! Fuck that, why would I murder a rapper?! I’m gonna listen to his shit on the way to go murder another nigga!

So the hip hop cops took you in supposedly over guns and weed but ended up just interrogating you to get info about other rappers?
They ain’t ask me a damn thing about no gun or no weed.  That could have been the gun that shot Kennedy, they didn’t give a fuck! All they wanted to know was, [in cop’s serious voice], ‘So what’s the beef with you and Jay-Z? You and 50 Cent?’ I said, ‘Sir, let me tell you two words – Beef who? [slaps his chest where his heart is] New Orleans, murder capital, man!
