T.I. recording new album while on house arrest!!!

Posted by Media Outrage on November 12, 2007

T.I.

While on house arrest and awaiting trial for weapons charges, T.I. has decided to put all of this free time to good use, and is reportedly recording songs for a new album which will be entitled “Paper Trail” because he has actually started writing his lyrics down, something that he claims he hasn’t done since his first LP “Im Serious“.

T.I. was released from Federal custody on October 26 after posting a $3 million bond. The rapper must wear a GPS tracking device to monitor his movements, and any visitors to his residence must undergo a criminal background check. If you missed it last week T.I. requested to have 95 visitors for what might be his last Thanks Giving dinner while a free man, but he later came to his senses and with drew that request.

Kanye West’s mother Dr.Donda West died following a cosmetic procedure.

Posted by Media Outrage on November 12, 2007

Kanye West and his mom

In light of the very sad news of Dr.Donda West’s passing who is Kanye West’s mother we have learned the cause of her untimely passing.

The mother of hip-hop mogul Kanye West died following a “cosmetic procedure” in Los Angeles this weekend, her publicist told CNN Monday.

But Patricia Green, the publicist for Dr. Donda West, did not give details about the procedure or exactly what the cause of death was.

West died Saturday at the age of 58, confirmed a representative of West’s record label, Island Def Jam, who added that “the family respectfully asks for privacy during this time of grief.”

Donda West was a major influence on her son’s life, as the music producer-singer-songwriter has often acknowledged.

She was the inspiration for the song, “Hey Mama,” on Kanye West’s 2005 album “Late Registration.” Among the lyrics: “Hey Mama, I wanna scream so loud for you, cuz I’m so proud of you … I appreciate what you allowed for me. I just want you to be proud of me.”

Earlier this year, she released a book she co-authored called “Raising Kanye: Life Lessons From the Mother of a Hip-Hop Superstar.”

West retired from her post as professor and chair of the English Department at Chicago State University in 2004 to become her son’s manager, according to the Kanye West Foundation Web site.

Kanye West’s writing partner Rhymefest lamented Donda West’s death Sunday in an appearance on Chicago radio station WCGI, the AP reported.

“She was everyone’s mom,” Rhymefest said. “A spirit never dies, a spirit lasts forever.”

Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Kanye and his entire family during this unfortunate time of grief.

Jay Z’s greatest interview ever!!!

Posted by Media Outrage on November 12, 2007

Jay Z

Jay ZJay ZJay Z

First of all let us say this, that their is not much more this guy can do to further solidify himself as the Greatest Rapper of all time. We know he is. Yes we are Jay Z fans over here at MediaOutrage, but we are also extremely objective in our perspective and opinions as it relates to rap. Blender is reporting that Jay is worth a whopping $286 million with a collection of great endorsement deals, a slew of 40/40s, Roca-Fella Records, his annual $8 million plus salary as Def Jam President, his minority stake in the New Jersey Nets soon to be Brooklyn Nets, and the millions he collects from album sales, royalties, and tours.

But check out this interview he did with Blender. We rank this up their with one of his best interviews ever.

What is it about this movie that opened the creative floodgates?
It was the emotions I remember from that time. Paranoia, excitement, addiction. It really is an addiction. After a while in the game, you become addicted to the excitement and the sense of uncertainty. Because any day could be your last. Cops are watching you, enemies are watching you — and knowing that, it’s this weird … rush.

It sounds like you’d never felt more alive.
[Nods and raps] “I never felt more alive/Than ridin’ shotgun in Cline’s green five.” I said that on [The Black Album’s] “Allure.” Absolutely. Because every second of that time you’re on pins and needles. It’s like gambling — gambling every day. For the highest stakes.

We hear you like to play the card game guts. What’s the most money you ever won or lost at it?
Mmm … probably 100 some thousand dollars.

Won or lost?
Oh, no, I’ve never lost 100 thousand. I’ve maybe lost 30 thousand. I’m a pretty good gambler — a calculated-risk gambler.

When you were coming up in the game, were there other gangsters you modeled yourself after?
The biggest drug dealer in our neighborhood was a guy named Danny Dan. He was loved by the people. Like a don. I remember that he wrote his own obituary and picked the song he wanted played at his funeral: “We Got Our Own Thang” by Heavy D. He did die really young, but it was in a car crash, not anything drug-related. So it was ironic.

What about more mainstream power struggles? Do you support any of the current presidential candidates?
I have relationships with two people in the race. Hillary — well, not so much Hillary, but I have a great relationship with Bill. And I just sat down and had a conversation with Barack Obama a couple of weeks ago. I love them equally, and they’re both making history. I’m gonna go down to the last day with this one. I’m watching both of them.

What did you and Barack Obama talk about?
We talked about me a lot. He had a friend with him who had extensive knowledge of my career. We didn’t really get into anything more than that.

Now that you’re so successful, do you still experience racism?
Not openly. Money insulates you from things like that. You know, if people’s kids love you, it’s hard for them to say anything bad about you. But I’m aware of it, certainly.

Bishop Eddie Long responds about Senator’s probe into mega-churches!!!

Posted by Media Outrage on November 12, 2007

Bishop Eddie Long

In yesterday morning’s service Bishop Eddie Long spoke about Senator Charles Grassley’s request for financial details from 6 mega churches.

Long called the request by Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) “unjust,” “intrusive,” and “an attack on our religious freedom and privacy rights,” during a brief address to the congregation during a morning service.

Other than releasing a statement last week, saying he would cooperate with the request, Long had been quiet.

[Grassley] wants to impose the will of government on our religious rights,” he said.

Many in the emotional and supportive crowd stood and cheered Long several times during his brief statement.

Whitney B. Williams of Marietta, a New Birth member said after the service, “That senator is a clown.”

He resents the financial aspersions the letters could cast on Long.

Bishop is a good man,” Williams said. “What they are saying is wrong.”

Reno Nevada residents protesting Beyonce??? What!?

Posted by Media Outrage on November 12, 2007

BeyonceBeyonceBeyonceBeyonce Billboard

The image with the crazy looking woman in the blue was obtained from Thebeatniks.

Who in the world wouldn’t want to wake up to her every morning? Well not her actually that’s reserved for that lucky bastard Jay Z, but residents in Reno, Nevada are upset that their is a huge bill board blocking their mountain views, and even more upset that they have now put a super sexy bikini clad dressed Beyonce on it.

The bill board is for Clear Channel’s radio station KWNZ. Some Reno residents call the bill board obscene and one particular resident says that she has 2 grandchildren that don’t need to be exposed to those kind of mental images. (Whatever grandmom, if they are two boys they’ll be fine…you just might just have to cut back on your supply of Jergens for a while)

Another resident said “you can change the channel on the tv but you can’t change that.”

Scott Seidenstricker, manager of KWNZ, said the new picture of Knowles is part of a regular series that also includes Gwen Stefani and Justin Timberlake. Other residens expressed more concern over how the bill board has blocked mountain views in the west Reno neighborhood. (Pluuuueeeeeeez! You still get to see curves so shut your pie wholes!) If you come out here it now dominates the skyline, Ward Ryan said. (If Ward Ryan’s a dude…one word for you…gay) “It just screams of degradation, it screams of ghettoizing a good neiborhood.” (Somebody please find him a boyfriend so he can shut up and stop hating on B)

Ryan who has collected about 100 signatures on a petition protesting the bill board, said that he was upset that Clear Channel installed it without notifying neighbors. City officials said that no one had to be notified because the bill board conforms with property use.

End Of Story.
