Vegas clinic may have infected 40,000 people with Hepatitis and HIV

Posted by Media Outrage on March 3, 2008

This is messed up and crazy.

Via Foxnews:

The city of Las Vegas has shut down a clinic where up to 40,000 people may have been exposed to hepatitis C and the HIV virus through the reuse of syringes and vials, officials said on Sunday.

The clinic at the heart of the scandal, the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada, “was served with an emergency suspension of its business license,” city authorities said in a statement.

Officials are asking about 40,000 people to be tested for hepatitis B and C and HIV because of unsafe medical practices at the clinic.

Health authorities launched an investigation into the clinic after six former patients were diagnosed with hepatitis. Nurses at the clinic were told “to reuse syringes when administering anesthesia” and “to reuse vials of medication,” the city said, citing a probe by public health agencies.

The local prosecutors’ office said it was closely examining the case and raised the possibility of filing charges against the center.

“It won’t happen tomorrow or the next day, but we are taking a hard, fast look at all the facts in the case,” District Attorney David Roger told KLAS-TV.

Some former patients had contacted lawyers for a possible class action suit against the clinic, local media reported.

Kanye denied entry into Balenciaga fashion show

Posted by Media Outrage on March 3, 2008

Kanye and Alexis

Kanye West was denied entry into spanish designer Balenciaga’s catwalk event during fashion week in Paris which ended on Sunday, because they did not think his hip-hop image was right for the show. Here’s what he had to say about it….

“My first love is for fashion and I appreciate just being in a position to afford to be able to spend a week in Paris visiting shows. I totally love and respect any designer that won’t let me come to their show. It’s their show. They don’t owe me anything. I just love the clothes! Lex (his fiancee Alexis Phifer) and I are not there to take pictures. I don’t have an album about to drop. My tour is sold out. I love fashion and this is one of the funniest things we can make time for. Balenciaga is one of the illest lines right now and I don’t feel any type of way about not getting in! There’s always a catch 22 in being a celeb – your motives are always questioned – but only time will show my true love.”

Mediaoutrage– He took that on the chin very well. That’s right yeezy respond with grace.
