Janet and Ellen get their kiss on

Janet Jackson was presented a GLADD Media award by Ellen Degeneres and they embraced with a kiss, how sweet. We all know who Janet was wishing Ellen was during this embrace. Zoe Saldana and her cute self also attended the event. She’s looking quite fine and adorable and what ever other words mean fine and adorable.

T.I. his sons, Jermaine Dupri his daughter, and Jeezy hit Hawks game

It was a family day last night at Philips Arena in Atlanta as T.I. his sons, Jermaine Dupri and his adorable daughter all attended the game between the Celtics and Hawks. Jeezy, Polow Da Don, and Emanuel Lewis were also at the game. You gotta love the the family outing. Good seeing T.I. with his sons. Oh and the Hawks beat Boston which makes the series 2-1 in Boston’s favor.

Mya performs in New York

Mya performed with the Chicago cast at the 8th Annual North Shore Animal League’s “Tour For Life” Grand Finale Adoption Event in New York yesterday. It’s good to see her immerse herself in causes that she feels worthy and important. She still looks good. And what ever happened to her tell all book that she was supposed to be writing? It’s better for her career if she maintains her dignity and not put out some Superhead like memoir.

Samuel Jackson and his wife

Samuel Jackson and his wife Latanya Richardson attended the Paris premiere of “Cleaner” Friday. Sam is staying busy and is working on 6 films that will debut between 2008-2009. He has been in more than 60 movies. That is definitely a hard working brother. We remember Latanya best for her role in The Fighting Temptations.

Celebs speak out against acquittal

Ice Cube, Chamillionaire, and Al Sharpton are among the many millions that are totally disgusted with the lack of justice we saw Friday when the judge acquitted all 3 officers in the shooting death of Sean Bell in which they fired 50 shots at an unarmed man hitting him 16 times. This is definitely a disgusting travesty of what is supposed to be justice in America. It reminds black people of the Jim Crow era in which African Americans never received a fair shot in a court room. It also sends a loud message to youth that already do not trust the law, that the police will not be held accountable when they use excessive force, break the law, and murder innocent civilians. It tells black people that society values the lives of corrupt police officers more than regular people.

“I think that we need a cross-section of groups to come together,” Sharpton said from his National Action Network headquarters in Harlem. “We need to sit down immediately and plan a strategy and make it international, with the goals being a structural change in policing. I believe we can get to the federal government. Then we’re going to wait again for another trial. There’s something wrong with the law, and we must change that.”
