White woman backlash???

Posted by Media Outrage on May 28, 2008

For months now there has been quiet speculation that Oprah’s powerful endorsement for Barack Obama caused a severe backlash. It is a fact that after she publicly announced her support for Obama and went on the campaign trail with him that a lot of her white female viewers expressed their (meaningless) outrage on Oprah.com. Oprah responded to the backlash during a passionate speech in where she opened up for Obama by defending her choice as a woman and a free woman to endorse whoever she wanted to. Hillary Clinton wanted to go on Oprah’s show and she was turned down much to the dismay of the big Krispie Kreme killer Roseanne. But our question is this, if you are supporting one candidate why in the H would you lend your very powerful and influential platform to the opposition???

The NyTimes has written an article analyzing whether her decision to publicly stand by Obama has affected her ratings, and consequentially her brand. Check it out and let us know what you think, because you know we want to know. Click Here.

“King of the South”

Posted by Media Outrage on May 28, 2008

T.I. who has done a complete 180 since his little episode of when keeping it real goes terribly wrong, is now joining the likes of other Reality TV stars by shooting his own show “King of the South” that got picked up by MTV for 8 episodes.

Via SOHH:

According to Variety, the network will go with the self-proclaimed “King of the South” as he performs the remainder of his community service hours and prepares for a one-year prison sentence next spring. The network plans to air the show some time soon after T.I. goes to jail in early 2009.

The series, by Ish Entertainment, has already gotten an eight-episode order from MTV.

“We began the conversations in the middle of deliberations over what would happen to him,” said Ish’s Michael Hirschorn, whose executive producing with partner Stella Stolper. “The original idea for the show had him staging a series of interventions in each episode with people in danger. But when we visited him under house arrest, it felt much bigger and more powerful than we anticipated.”

“Hopefully the mistakes I’ve made will be a lesson to today’s youth and they won’t go down that same path,” T.I. said.

Tip didn’t need the court’s permission to do the show, but MTV will stick to the rules of the artist’s home confinement. The show will also cover the release of Tip’s upcoming album, Paper Trail, heavily inspired by the latest legal woes and the birth of his newborn son.

Mediaoutrage– Nothing like seeing someone turn a negative into a positive cause little machine gun mania was definitely on some other ish.

The reason she parties nonstop

Posted by Media Outrage on May 28, 2008

Kim Kardashian seems to hit a different party every other night. Well the reason being is that she gets paid $25,000 to show up at an event. So 4 nights within a week would bank her a nice $100,000 in a week not to mention the amount she gets paid for that show of hers. That’s a good look for her bank account.

Eddie Griffin being sued for beatin dat azz

Posted by Media Outrage on May 28, 2008

Eddie Griffin is being sued by a man who says that he was assaulted by the comedian after allegedly insulting his mother.

Via TMZ:

A guy is suing comedian Eddie Griffin for allegedly beating the crap out him after he was “wrongfully accused of disrespecting [Eddie Griffin’s] Momma and treating her like a slave nigga.”

In a lawsuit filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, Vince Beane claims he was a production manager on the set of one of Griffin’s pilots. Beane claims on March 10, 2008, defendant The Leslie Greif Company (yes, we love the name, too — it’s a production company) plied Griffin “with more than six bottles of Veuve Clicquot Chapaign (sic)”, failing to inform Beane of “the violent propensity of the inebriated Eddie Griffin…”

Beane claims he was then “maliciously assaulted and battered by Eddie Griffin.” On top of that, Beane says, Griffin’s bodyguard, a professional heavyweight boxer “and menacing figure” named John “J.C.” Clark, intimidated and threatened him.

Oh yeah, the Momma thing that allegedly caused the attack – Beane says The Leslie Greif Company asked him to make lodging arrangements “at any cheap 3 star hotel” for Griffin and his mom. Griffin felt it was an insult, according to the suit, telling Beane, “You are that mutha fu**a who got my momma that f**ked-up ass hotel room” — then Griffin allegedly knocked the daylights out of Beane.

After the alleged assault, Griffin said, “that was for my Momma…she ain’t no nappy headed ho….boy.”

FoxNews should fire this racist b*tch!

Posted by Media Outrage on May 28, 2008

Ok yet another Foxnews analyst has stepped way out of pocket and suggested that somebody ASSASSINATE Barack Obama. Liz Trotta and her old decrepit racist ass should be fired point blank and someone should obtain a search warrant to her crib and we’re sure they’ll probably find a whole closet full of sheets with 3 wholes in them and a KKK, how to pamphlet and a few life size crosses with a whole lot of matches.

Via Eurweb:

Fox News Channel contributor Liz Trotta, a former Washington Times editor and three-time Emmy winner, has issued an apology for making a cruel joke that suggested she wished death to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

On Sunday, Fox host Eric Shawn asked Trotter about the backlash surrounding Sen. Hillary Clinton’s mention of Robert F. Kennedy’s assassination when asked by a South Dakota newspaper about extending her campaign into June.

Trotter said: “Now we have what some are reading as a suggestion that somebody knock off Osama, uh Obama. Well, both, if we could.”

Ray J thrown out of hotel for f*ckin wit dem drugs

Posted by Media Outrage on May 28, 2008

According to TMZ Ray J was thrown out of the Hyatt Regency in D.C. on Saturday morning for allegedly having some weed and “boat” aka club drugs in the room.

Via TMZ:

R&B boy toy Ray J was tossed out on his behind early Saturday morning from the Hyatt Regency in D.C., because Brandy’s bro allegedly had a stash of marijuana and a drug called “Boat” (a club drug) … this according to TMZ sources.

We’re told Ray J went to his room after partying it up, when hotel management got a complaint. It appears security went up to the room where they allegedly found all the drug stuff.

Our sources say the singer tried to bribe hotel security so he could stay but they didn’t bite. We’re told Ray J went crazy, arguing like a mutha. Eventually, Mr. J’s own security came to the hotel and carted him away.

Police were called, but no one was busted.

And the supreme insult — Ray J had to check into a Holiday Inn down the street. Oh the humanity.

UPDATE: Ray J’s rep tells us “The altercation did not directly affect Ray J — it was people in his entourage. But he did the gentlemanly thing and left the hotel anyway.”

Mediaoutrage– Boat? LOL Never heard of it but cats better leave that ish alone fo sho.

Vanessa Bryant gets gully

Posted by Media Outrage on May 28, 2008

Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa was ready get it poppin with ESPN writer Laura Lane because of some things she included in an article about Vanessa and her daughters.

“Last night, I got cussed out by Vanessa Bryant. Seriously. At the Lakers game. In front of her kids. In front of the Lakers locker room. It was awesome. She is mad about an article I wrote where I mentioned her.

So as I’m walking out of the Lakers locker room after some post-game interviews with the players, I pass Vanessa, who is sitting outside the locker room as usual with her two girls.

“Laura!” she screams (yes, she apparently knows my name). “Fuck you! You fucking bitch!”

“Excuse me?” I say, completely baffled as I look around me to see if there is someone else named Laura. No, there’s not.

Her daughters – ages 5 and 2 – are sitting next to her on the bench looking at their mom as she screams.

‘Fuck you! How dare you write about me and my daughters and their schedule! You didn’t say you were writing an article! Fuck you! You fucking bitch. You have no journalism ethics! Fuck you! You bitch – ‘”

Mediaoutrage– Vanessa better be careful and glad at the same time that Laura didn’t open up a super ripe can of whoooop ass on her in front of her adorable daughters because that would have just been tragic.
