The Single Monica

Posted by Media Outrage on June 4, 2008

Monica is coming to a TV near you with her own reality show entitled The Single Monica. The show will debut in August and be executive produced by its creator James Dubose, who did Keyshia Cole’s reality series on BET. To hear Monica talk about some interesting things in her life CLICK HERE.

Via Accessatlanta:

“I really think this is going to be fun. My main thing I hope to accomplish with this is, well, you know, I didn’t do things in my life in the order people may have felt I should have. But ultimately, I’ve found my balance.

“We’ve found our balance,” she continues, referring to the father of her two songs, rapper/producer Rodney “Rocko” Hill. “As artists, as parents, and just as human beings. I hope this shows that.”

“It’s going to be a ride, I can tell you that. I’ll probably have a moment or two on there, but I’m more than comfortable with me. I’ve never really been secretive about my life and what I’ve gone through…So you know, people will see that I live the same type of life of many women with children. I don’t hire a car service when the kids need to go somewhere. There’s no nanny, no chef over here. I take care of home, and then might have to spend 14 hours in the studio. And people will see that.”

Mediaoutrage– Soon the entire industry is going to have a reality show. Does it sound like something you’ll be watching?

Jesse Jackson on what Barack’s win means

Posted by Media Outrage on June 4, 2008

Essence reached out to Jesse Jackson who was in Tanzania at the time and asked him what his thoughts were on Barack Obama capturing the Democratic Nomination. Here’s what he had to say:

‘Im impressed as I watch America changing and becoming more mature. On August 28, 1955, Emmett Till was lynched in Mississippi. On August 28, 1964, Martin Luther King, Jr., spoke at the March on Washington of dreaming of a new day. On August 28, 2008, Barack Obama will be declared the nominee of the Democratic Party. What a tremendous growth for our country.

James E. Clyburn, the third-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives and a superdelegate, endorsed Obama yesterday. Here’s what he had to say

On what the nomination will mean to Black America:
I think this means for Black America what it means for White America. I have always bought into the theory that if you look into the works of Martin Luther King, Jr., there are people who will say, [when we fight racial discrimination] “it is as much to free White Americans from their past as it is to free Black Americans from their past.” So I don’t think that we do ourselves a whole lot of good separating out Barack Obama as a Black person’s candidate or White person’s candidate, it’s all about America.

So generous

Posted by Media Outrage on June 4, 2008

50 showed a little bit of benevolence on the set of his latest movie Streets of Blood by giving actor Val Kilmer a $100,000 1965 Chevy Impala from his own personal collection of whips. The two have reportedly bonded on set over their love of vintage cars.

If he and his momma were black he’d be two stepping to the after life right now!

Posted by Media Outrage on June 4, 2008

Now we’re about to get a little real right now and tell the TRUTH so all you potential offended people log off now. Isn’t it ironic that a lot of white parents think it something evil to discipline their children by spanking, and are ready to call the law (popo) on black parents when they slap they’re kid into 2035 for being disrespectful, but it’s possible that black parents learned some of this whipping and spanking behavior from hmmm can we say 300 some years of SLAVERY, where grown men and women were whipped like animals but now it’s almost illegal to physically discipline your disrespectful kids? We just have to laugh at the irony. Anyway in this episode of Dr. Phil this little Krispee Kreme Killer had the audacity to slap his momma in the face on camera and tell her to shut up. Hmmm we know if he was black woooo, he and Moses, Abraham, Jacob, Isaiah, and John The Baptiste would all be having a nice conversation right now on the other side.
