Reunited Again

Posted by Media Outrage on June 6, 2008

Ja Rule and Ashanti took the stage and performed today on NBC’s “Good Morning America”. Good to see them working together again. There was a time years back where they ruled the airwaves, but then came 50 and axed Ja’s career to shreds. We’re loving Ashanti in them shorts.

Sorry Ms. Jackson

Posted by Media Outrage on June 6, 2008

Janet Jackson recently spoke on the troubles at her label Def Jam, in regards to the promotion of her album and next single. This was her response when asked what her next single off the album would be:

“That’s pretty difficult to say, only because of the record label at this point. We started off with Feedback and the label and myself haven’t quite seen eye to eye since the Feedback single so they’ve kind of basically stopped all promotion. I’m trying to figure out a way to say this, but just to say it and to be quite honest, they just stopped all promotion whatsoever on the album so I don’t think you’re going to hear another single off this album.”

Mediaoutrage– That’s real jacked up that they would scrap promotion on her album by not releasing another single. The record industry is real shady.

Serena Williams covers the latest issue of Ebony in all of her bootyliciousness. Here’s what the tennis sensation had to say about Common…..

“I think he’s a great guy. He’s obviously a great artist who is timeless and classic. You can’t beat that. But I have to focus on tennis because that’s my goal in life.”

Mediaoutrage– Nothing wrong with a little career focus.

Money woes

Posted by Media Outrage on June 6, 2008

Evander Holyfield seems to be experiencing money woes. His Georgia mansion that sits on 235 acres has fallen into foreclosure.

Via Eurweb:

A legal notice published in a local paper showed Holyfield’s sprawling 235-acre estate in Fayette County is set to be auctioned on July 1 by Washington Mutual Bank, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Meanwhile, Toi Irvin, the mother of one of Holyfield’s 11 children, says the boxing legend skipped two child-support payments – for May and June – totaling $6,000. The Clayton County resident filed a petition for contempt in Fayette County Superior Court on behalf of her 10-year-old son after she was told by Holyfield’s reps not to expect the May and June payments.

Holyfield is also being sued by a Utah consulting company for failing to repay a $550,000 loan. The lawsuit, filed 15 days ago in U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City, said Holyfield borrowed the funds to pay for landscaping on his estate.

Mediaoutrage– That crib is off the chain.

Get her jumpsuit ready

This woman was tripping…..

Via AP:

DANVILLE, Calif. – A Danville woman faces arson charges after she allegedly set fires at two gas stations and a coffee house, saying she was protesting high gas prices.

The woman, 64, remained Thursday in a Contra Costa jail on $810,000 bail on suspicion of premeditated arson and burglary.

Police say the woman used a fireplace log and a lighter to set fires in the restrooms of an Arco station, a Chevron station and a Starbucks on Wednesday. No structural damage was reported at the locations.

Police later found the woman at a nearby fast food restaurant with eight fireplace logs with her. She told officers that she was behind the fires and said she woke up that morning wanting to do something about high gas prices.

Police say they don’t know why she targeted the Starbucks.

Charges have not yet been filed, and it’s not clear if the woman has a lawyer in the case.

Mediaoutrage– She was definitely trying to make a statement, but, in the worst possible way, or she just plain forgot to take her medication.
