Barack the vote

Posted by Media Outrage on July 30, 2008

Their is no better advertisement for Presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama than being plastered across Halle’s gorgeous tata’s. Halle was out and about yesterday getting her shopping on in Century City California while rocking the face of her candidate of choice Barack Obama. The jury’s in she could rock a stankin glad trash back with matching trash bag socks and still be hot as West Africa.

Wrigley’s Gum Event

Posted by Media Outrage on July 30, 2008

Singing sensations Chris Brown and Ne-Yo attended the Debut Remake Wrigley’s Gum Jingles at the Nokia Theater in NY yesterday. Marketing guru Steve Stoute, Jay-Z, Akon, Red Cafe, and Alesha Renee were also present at the event. Steve Stoute was seen giving Chris Brown what seems to be like business advice. Stoute is definitely someone to give an ear to being that he is one of the people responsible for introducing Hip-Hop to the mainstream and negotiating so many marriages between corporate America and the culture.

Smart & Sexy

Posted by Media Outrage on July 30, 2008

Tatyana Ali covers the newest issue of King Magazine and had some interesting things to say in an interview….

Via King:

It’s very rare to see a child actor flee from Hollyweird to get a higher education. Those “don’t do drugs” campaigns must have seeped in.
College was my opportunity to be around my peers, which you don’t get to do when you’re a child actor. And I wanted to be normal and see what else was out there, see what else I was good at. And there are some other things that I’m good at.

Such as?
I’m good at the sciences, I love learning about plants. You know, I’m a dork…it’s cool. I’ve come to terms with that and I dig it a little.

A sexy botanist? Works for us, but nobody in Harvard stopped you in the halls?
Sure, they did, but they also did that to the Latin scholars across the hallway and the number-one math student who was walking down the street. In Harvard, everybody was extraordinary in the town that they came from. When you get there, nobody is more extraordinary than anyone else.

Resolution to apologize to African-Americans for slavery

Posted by Media Outrage on July 30, 2008

The House of Representatives was poised Tuesday to pass a resolution apologizing to African-Americans for Slavery and the era of Jim Crow in which this country allowed unspeakable inhumane evils against black people.

Via CNN:

The nonbinding resolution, which is expected to pass, was introduced by Rep. Steve Cohen, a white lawmaker who represents a majority black district in Memphis, Tennessee.

While many states have apologized for slavery, it will be first time a branch of the federal government will apologize for slavery if the resolution passes, an aide to Cohen said.

By passing the resolution, the House would also acknowledge the “injustice, cruelty, brutality and inhumanity of slavery and Jim Crow.” Read the rest of this entry »

Definitely Delusional

Posted by Media Outrage on July 30, 2008

Boston Celtics Finals MVP Paul Pierce is definitely feeling himself a lot these days after winning his first NBA Championship this past June against Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers. Peep the question Pierce was asked in an interview in Madrid…..

“Q: Is Kobe really the best player in the world? Pierce: I don’t think Kobe is the best player. I’m the best player. There’s a line that separates having confidence and being conceited. I don’t cross that line but I have a lot of confidence in myself.

Yep we can definitely say this cat is suffering from a severe break in reality. Was he a better player in the Finals than Kobe Bryant? Possibly. Did he have a way better team? H to the yes. Because you outplay the BEST player in the WORLD in a 7 game series does that make you the new best player in the world? Not at all.

Michael Jordan won his first NBA championship in his 7th season but was already the best player in the league before that achievement. So lets stop the nonsense Kobe Bryant win or lose is still the BEST player on this planet. But there’s nothing wrong with Pierce expressing his distorted opinion that only he and probably some of his immediate family members share.

Weak Defense

Posted by Media Outrage on July 30, 2008

Madonna’s rep Liz Rosenberg has jumped all over this scary picture that surfaced on the net this weekend that showed Madonna looking like she was one hit away from death. They even pulled in a Los Angeles plastic surgeon to try and play damage control.

Via People:

“I just think the photographer got a bad shot of her or it was touched up to make her look bad,” says her rep Liz Rosenberg. “I saw Madonna two days before at her rehearsal and she looked amazing – glowing skin and working really hard on her show.”

“She may look a little thinner than usual,” continues Rosenberg, “but she was dancing and singing better than ever and ate a nice healthy meal.”

Los Angeles plastic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Hoefflin says weight loss can make for sharp cheekbones.

“From a physician who has never evaluated or treated Madonna, it’s my impression that if she has lost significant weight, that you’re seeing a good amount of facial fat loss in her face,” he tells PEOPLE.

“The cheekbones can often stand out, appearing as [though] someone has undergone some form of mid-face enhancement,” he adds.

As for the expression on Madonna’s face in the photos, her rep joked, “Maybe she was getting ready to hurl a spitball at somebody.”

Mediaoutrage– Definitely the work of a publicist to try and add a positive spin on the situation. Look it’s cool we’re not saying she’s f*cking with more rocks than a Flinstone’s extra, but her emaciated looking grill isn’t because the photo was touched up or was taken from a bad angle either. Cause they got her looking like she’s hitting that glass and we don’t mean a basketball layup drill either.

Bookman from Goodtimes defends Jesse Jackson

Posted by Media Outrage on July 30, 2008

Rev. Al Sharpton has injected his opinion and perception into the debacle that Jackson caused because of his harsh hater statements against Obama, in which he said he wanted to cut Barack’s nuts off. LOL that still gives us a rib cracking laugh. Well here’s what Sharpton had to say about the situation….

Via Yahoo:

“We have all made mistakes. We have all erred, and we ought not try to sugar coat when we err,” Sharpton told a gathering of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in this New Orleans suburb.

“But we should not throw away everything when we err, and to say that Rev. Jackson made a mistake is correct, but to act like Rev. Jesse Jackson is not pivotal to our movement, our history … is wrong.”

“Jesse Jackson,” he added, “is somebody.”

In a fiery speech that was part political rally and part big tent revival, Sharpton applauded Obama’s success and promised to do what he could to get him elected. Read the rest of this entry »
