It’s never that bad

Posted by Media Outrage on September 13, 2008

Everyday we wake up is another opportuninty to be tremendously thankful for the many blessings in our lives. Someone may be saying to themselves right now ‘I don’t know what they’re talking about, because my life is a mess. I owe bills I’m far from happy, don’t have the job I want, the mate I want, the car I want, enough money to make ends meet, and emotionally I’m just tore up’. Even still with all of that being your current state of mind you still woke up today with an opportunity to first say thank you and then use your abilities and energy to change those circumstances.

For those who live in the United States. We should never wake up ungrateful. What we classify as poverty here in this great country is considered luxury in certain third world countries. You have running water, air condition, heat, homes, apartments, vehicles, jobs, healthcare, a democratic government, and best of all limitless educational institutions. There are third world countries in which people live in huts with dirt for floors, have no running water, vaccines for disease, healthcare, vehicles, right to participate in any religion they choose, and live under dictatorship. They do not have the luxury of getting an education. There are no teachers, institutions of learning, hospitals, or other foundations set up with the sole purpose of providing assistance to it’s citizens. And we dare complain?

Someone woke up this morning without the use of their legs. Another woke up this morning blind. Another without hearing. Another without the sense of smell. Another confined to a medical bed. Another paralyzed. But plenty of others didn’t wake up. So the first thing everyone should do in the morning and before they go to bed is say THANK YOU. We don’t know whom you thank, but we know who we thank. Being grateful is a powerful thing. Always remember you were given talents and gifts to make your life better. You have the ability to change most of the circumstances in your life just by making better decisions. Someone once said that “we are all the sum of our choices’. That’s interesting. Just remember you woke up today with another opportunity to be grateful and improve life. Ok we’re done lol now back to the news you so lovingly crave.

That is so true and thank you for posting. I think about things like that when I want to complain about something. Also, I’m disabled and I thank god I’m in a country where a person like me can have a voice and a choice to do whatever I want.

M.O Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My mother always told us each person on this earth is responsible for the next. She said the story is bigger than us and yes we are our brothers and sisters keeper. I was taught where ever you go in life just know what blessing you gain, turn around and pick the person behind you up.If i see anyone in distress I do all I can to help wheather it is with money or my time. And for those that say to me you don’t know what that person is doing with the money you put in his/her hands, I say God knows his/her heart, I don’t need to know i just need to know how can I help. So M.O i have no complaints of any kind. I have been blessed. And pray to God every day to help me serve him and not myself. Thank you once again M.O for being able to step out there and reflect on whats really important in life….. I knew i liked this site for a reason.

I know that is an old post, but it came out while we were going through the backlash from Hurrican Ike with no electricity for 8 days. I was just randomly going into some of the older posts. I am so thankful that God looks out for us even in the midst of a Catergory 5 Storm Winds. He kept most of safe there was very little loss of life from a storm of that magnitude. And I so grateful that he watches over all of us and that he knows all of our needs at any given moment.I am so thankful that the country where I live, we have the freedom to worship!!!!! Thank you Jesus! Remember having been blessed you need to be a blessing.
