Paula Abdul: American Idol Didn’t Protect Me

Posted by Media Outrage on December 10, 2008

Paula Abdul

Paula Abdul is exposing the producers of American Idol and the Fox network for not doing more to protect her from stalker Paula Godspeed that commited suicide outside her home. We have to shake our heads at this.

Via Yahoo:

Paula Abdul says the Fox network and “American Idol” producers knew Paula Goodspeed had stalked her, and allowed the woman to audition for the show anyway.

“I said this girl is a stalker of mine and please do not let her in,” Abdul said Monday during an interview with Barbara Walters on her Sirius XM radio show.

Goodspeed was found dead of an apparent suicide in a car near Abdul’s home last month.

Abdul said “Idol” producers ignored her protests and brought Goodspeed on the show “for entertainment value.” Read the rest of this entry »

This whole eviction sh*t is a huge misunderstanding

Posted by Media Outrage on December 10, 2008

Nene from Real Housewives of Atlanta has issued a statement through Bravo in an attempt to clear up the  truth  speculation and rumors of her being evicted. Here’s what she had to say below…

Via People:

“The recent rumors alleging that my family faced an eviction are a huge misunderstanding and grossly inaccurate,” Leakes, 41, says in a statement released by Bravo. “I am truly blessed to enjoy a wonderful life and lifestyle. We have indeed moved to another home, but we did so on our own free will.”

Atlanta’s most outspoken Housewife goes on to acknowledge the reality that many Americans are facing financial difficulties but differentiates herself and her family. “Unfortunately, there are many families who are facing real foreclosures and real evictions,” she says. “I know where we live and how we live, and for those blessings I am humbly thankful.

“Everybody knows that I like to be honest, real and upfront. If something was wrong, I would tell you!” Leakes adds. Read the rest of this entry »

Common speaks hip-hop, acting, and Serena Williams

Posted by Media Outrage on December 10, 2008

Common, who happens to be one of the most positive rappers in the game, spoke to CNN about the future of hip-hop, Obama, an acting career, and of course Serena Williams.

Via CNN:

McLaughlin: You’ve always been discernible from other lyricists. You’ve got a unique sound, unique cadence. Do you think you get the credit you deserve as an artist?

Common: I actually think I do, man. I feel like God gives you what you deserve. Whatever that time is, you get what you deserve. And you have to work and continue to work to expand your audience or to grow in whatever way you want to grow, meaning I feel like I was doing music that was creative and was good music, but maybe it was only directed to a certain audience when I was known as being an underground artist because that’s what I see.

That was my vision at that time. And though I would say to myself, “Man, I want to be one of the biggest artists ever,” maybe my scope of the world wasn’t up to par at that point, or maybe I wasn’t aware of what it would take to be the biggest artist. Because if I said I wanted to be a big artist known to all the masses, then after I make the music, I’ve got to go out and make good business moves. And I don’t think I was doing that early in my career, so I feel like I was getting what I deserved by what I was putting into it and by what work that I wanted. Read the rest of this entry »
