Posted by Media Outrage on February 23, 2009

Xzibit is letting the cat out of the bag and speaking on some sh*t that he didn’t think was straight in his eyes. He says he went to a party that Diddy threw in Miami a while back and Diddy took he and Superhead (Karrine Steffans) to a gay club where men were kissing men.

His words on Jamie Foxx’s radio show:

Puffy takes me outside and he was like, ‘You know about that girl you with … that’s the devil. And I was like, ‘What you mean that’s the devil?’ … And Diddy was like, ‘She’ll videotape you with fingers in the booty.’ And I was like, ‘What the f*ck does that mean.” Read the rest of this entry »

Tyler Perry on Larry King

Posted by Media Outrage on February 23, 2009

The man himself Tyler Perry sat down with Larry King this weekend and talked about his meteoric rise to success. Everyone knows that Tyler Perry went from homeless and living in his car to one of the richest entertainers in America. Last year alone he grossed $125 million only 3rd behind Oprah Winfrey and 50 Cent. Not to mention that this past weekend his Madea Goes To Jail smashed the box office with a $41.1 million openener. It also broke the record for the amount grossed on an opening weekend for any of his previous movies and Lionsgate’s films.

We would like to see Tyler continue to branch out and trek unchartered waters. The comedy is great but you have to mix it up with serious drama, action, romance and other story lines to get that coveted Oscar award. Plus you don’t want to type cast yourself as a producer where the public only starts to look for certain kinds of films from you. Oh and word is that he is coming out with “Why Did I Get Married?” part 2. But anyhow he is doing an excellent job resurrecting Black Hollywood. John Legend Boycotting NyPost For Racist Cartoon

Posted by Media Outrage on February 23, 2009

john-legend-e4

John Legend didn’t find anything funny about last week’s cartoon in the NyPost which had some very racial attacks in it. He is in effect boycotting the paper and encouraging all of his celebrity friends and colleauges to do the same.

John’s Letter to the Post:

Dear Editor:

I’m trying to understand what possible motivation you may have had for publishing that vile cartoon depicting the shooting of the chimpanzee that went crazy. I guess you thought it would be funny to suggest that whomever was responsible for writing the Economic Recovery legislation must have the intelligence and judgment of a deranged, violent chimpanzee, and should be shot to protect the larger community. Really? Did it occur to you that this suggestion would imply a connection between President Barack Obama and the deranged chimpanzee? Did it occur to you that our president has been receiving death threats since early in his candidacy? Did it occur to you that blacks have historically been compared to various apes as a way of racist insult and mockery? Did you intend to invoke these painful themes when you printed the cartoon?
