Zoe Kravitz had that “Dad what the hell are you wearing cuz?” look on her grill this weekend at Madison Square Garden. She and her dad were enjoying quality time during the 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concert. Lenny does dress a tad bit weird just like his daughter. Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner recently exchanged a few barbs. This little back and forth goes back to Beyonce’s performance with Tina Turner in which she referred to Tina as the Queen. Well here’s what the two legends had to say about one another.
Via USA Today:
Turner, currently on tour, was silent when Franklin dubbed Beyonce’s remark “a cheap shot for controversy.” Asked to comment in a USA TODAY interview last week, Turner said, “She’s the queen of soul, and I’m the queen of rock’n’ roll. There were so many kings and queens there that night. Her ego must be so big to think she was the only one.” She joked, “That’s how queens are!” Read the rest of this entry »

Mathew and Tina Knowles who are basically responsible for engineering the enormous success of Destiny’s Child, and launching their daughter Beyonce’s inextinguishable solo career, were both on hand at the VH1 Save The Music Foundation Summer Of Soul Concert in Sag Harbor, NY over the weekend to watch Solange who’s next up to bat, do her thing. Aretha Franklin, Russell Simmons and Porschla Coleman, Grant Hill and wife Tamia were also in attendance. Ne-Yo also performed for the fans. We must say that as usual Solange’s fashion game was up to par, because we’re definitely feeling the outfit of choice.

Janice Combs attended the Dress for Success Worldwide Gala at the Marriott Marquis in NY yesterday in all of her momma of Diddy splendor. You can definitely believe that the ass holes at PETA have this image as their company wide screen-saver. They love riding on celebrities and their mommas.

Due to Aretha Franklin being preoccupied with hating on Beyonce and trying to introduce legislation that would make it a crime punishable by being drowned in cat piss for anyone who refers to another legend, especially that chick Tina Turner as ‘The Queen’, the tax man was putting his own little plan together to snatch big mommas crib right from under her.
Aretha Franklin could lose her home to tax collectors. The singer says an attorney’s mistake caused her $700,000 mansion in Detroit to slip into foreclosure over $445 in 2005 taxes and late fees.
The Detroit Free Press reports Thursday the Queen of Soul owes a total of $19,192 in back taxes on the property through 2007. She says she plans to pay up and reclaim it by a March 31 deadline.
A spokesman for the Wayne County Treasurer’s office says the foreclosure judgment for $445 was entered earlier this month.
Records show Franklin owes $18,746 in back taxes and fees for the 2006 and 2007 tax years, but foreclosure proceedings on those debts wouldn’t begin until next year.
Franklin’s slate-roofed brick mansion was built in 1927.

In light of the controversy that Aretha caused after the Grammys when she made her statements attacking Beyonce for introducing Tina Turner as the “Queen” Dan Mathews Vice President of PETA has taken the opportunity to verbally pimp smack the Queen of Soul for her fur wearing ways. Here’s what he had to say….
“Music lovers may think of you as a ‘queen,’ but to animal lovers, you are a court jester. I’m sorry, Aretha, but your furs make you look like a clown. Why not shed the old-fashioned look that adds pounds to your frame and detracts from your beautiful voice? Please consider donating your furs to the homeless as ‘queen of compassion,’ Mariah Carey, did. You’ll get a tax credit for the donation, and we at PETA will all sing your praises.”
First of all Dan Mathews is definitely out of pocket. SMH at him saying that her furs make her look like a clown. He obviously never took a communications class because he just got all brolic on the Queen. Who the f*ck does PETA think they are??? They got celebrities shook to rock minks? If they want to spend their stacks on some dead animals then so be it. Aretha should respond with a pencil tracing of a middle finger on proper letter head of course.

We knew Matthew wasn’t just going to stand by and be mute while Aretha Franklin attacked Beyonce with accusations of trying to slight her at the Grammys by introducing Tina Turner as “The Queen”. Here’s what Matti had to say…
“I’m not even going to take this to [Beyonce]. Something this ridiculous, it’s childish, it’s unprofessional. And it’s a sad day when egos get bruised because somebody used the word king, queen, prince or princess.”
He has a good point. We’ll risk being redundant, repetitive, and saying this again that we don’t believe Beyonce was trying to piss on Aretha Franklin’s ego or pride by referring to Tina Turner as “The Queen”.
