Don Cornelius of Soul Train who happens to be 72 years old was arrested two nights ago and charged with felony domestic violence. Someone called from Cornelius’ home and the LAPD responded to a “domestic dispute.” After arriving the popo threw the 72 year old Soul Train host in some cuffs. He was taken to a jail in Van Nuys and thrown in the bing where his bail was set at $50,000. He was released at 5 AM. We’re not sure if his wife is the one who called the popo. Damn Don we hope you weren’t smacking some chick around.
The Dark Knight is right now killing the game as far as earnings are concerned for movies. In it’s second weekend out it set yet another landmark record by having the biggest second weekend earnings ever by pulling in $75.6million and eclipsing the former record set by the holiday boosting Shrek which did $72million.
The Dark Knight has now sped past the $300million mark in 10 days which is also a record. Thus far the epic movie has grossed $314.2million. The Dark Knight now ranks as the second biggest movie of the year behind the $315million pull of Iron Man, and is the 23rd biggest movie of all time. Wow all of this in only 10 days sheesh.
The previous speed record for a $300 million film was 16 days set by “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” in 2006. The next target is $400 million, which took “Shrek 2” 43 days to reach. Warner Bros. distribution president Dan Fellman predicted “The Dark Knight” would take just 18 days to reach that milestone.
“Where we go from there, it’s uncharted waters,” Fellman said.
The last movie to break $400 million was the 2006 “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie, which ranks No. 6 on the all-time list with $423 million. The 1997 epic “Titanic” leads the field with $601 million.

Monday morning Tracey Edmonds called radio personality Doug Banks to address his recent telephone interview with Johnny Gill, in which he confronted the rumors of a relationship with Eddie Murphy and the disaster wedding that went down on the island with Tracey and Eddie.
Gill denied that he was ever in a homo relationship with Eddie Murphy. Doug Banks told listeners that Tracey had phoned in but was under gag order and couldn’t discuss the issue because of a confidentiality agreement she signed with Eddie at the end of their relationship. (Now that’s deep when you signing gag orders at the end of a relationship, powerful media companies like Harpo usually make employees sign those so you just can’t go and put the secret stuff out in the media, so wow)
However Tracey’s publicist released an official statement regarding Johnny Gill’s comments during the Friday’s interview.
“I was very shocked and disappointed to hear of Johnny Gill’s false spin on the chain of events surrounding our wedding. His outrageous lies were clearly a very desperate and pathetic attempt to clean up his reputation at my expense. I would appreciate it if Mr. Gill would refrain from continuing to spread false gossip and lies to the public, and allow everyone involved to move on with their lives. We all know the real truth.”
Mediaoutrage– That ‘We all know the truth’ line sounds a little suspect as if she is trying to use some sort of written sign language and say that there was some funny ish going on and that it had nothing to do with her allegedly calling Eddie Murphy’s mom a ‘rat b*tch’. SMH if she really said that and then escaped with her lips still on her face.
Everyone was anxiously awaiting the Beyonce, Tina Turner performance. It was alright we wanted more but they entertained the crowd. We just don’t think Tina should have been in them pants for real. She should have rocked one of her skirts.
Your favorite celeb couple out and about in NY. Why is Jay always photo’d walking in front of her? Well most of the time. He must not hold doors for his woman. Jay is looking like his usual self gear and fresh white kicks. Beyonce is looking a hot mess. And we never see her looking this bad. Those pants with the big hot pink stripe down the side is not getting it. The earrings wack, the shirt wack. This is just like the ugliest outfit we’ve ever seen her rock and she has no make-up on which is cool but the outfit needs to be burned.
Actress Elise Neal was out at an event in LA a few nights ago looking absolutely stunning. We believe she is 41 but never the less she is looking hot! It was reported a few months ago that she might possibly play Karrine ‘Superhead’ Steffans in a movie so we don’t know what is going on with that or when that film is even to begin shooting. Either way Ms. Neal deserves to have more work in Hollywood.
Jay Beyonce and Kanye were court side last night in Jersey for the Nets and Supersonics game. That’s a lot of money sitting right there. Between the three of them combined they are worth at least $380million. Jay is worth a reported $268million last time we checked and we know Beyonce is carrying her own weight now after a super platinum Destiny’s Child albums, her two solo releases, movies, countless endorsements and world tour she has to be worth at least a good $50million and we are under guessing here. Kanyeezee’s probably good for $20million at least. So yea a lot of money sitting in those 3 seats.
MSNBC is reporting that Oprah recently made out her will and allegedly left out her longtime mate Stedman Graham. Here’s what they said….
“Fearing that her estimated $2 billion fortune would be squandered in the event of her untimely passing, Oprah Winfrey’s leaving nothing to chance. The talk-show titan recently prepared her will, and according to the National Enquirer, she’s left a significant someone out of it completely.
Charities and yet-to-be adopted children stand to benefit the most from the enormous estate, while Stedman Graham, O’s partner for the last 21 years, allegedly won’t see a dime.
Someday, Oprah plans to adopt three daughters and raise them alone, an insider told the Enquirer. “It’s something she has always wanted to do,” said the source. “There’s no talk of her adopting the children with Stedman — this is something she’s going to do by herself.”
Well that’s better than hearing that $2billion is going to her dogs.
