Memorial Service For A Legend

Yesterday thousands of people gathered and packed into the House of Hope church in Chicago to say goodbye to Bernie Mac a true legend. Jesse Jackson, Steve Harvey, Chris Rock, Cedric The Entertainer, comedian George Wallace, Bruce Bruce, Juwan Howard, and the cast from Bernie Mac’s TV show Kellita Smith (who played his wife), Camille Winbrush, and Jeremy Suarez were all present for the very emotional memorial service. Certain fans donned shirts with Bernie Mac’s face on them expressing their true sadness and admiration for him. We can say here that he will truly be missed and sometimes the kind of life you live is evident by the amount of people you touch in a deep way. Rest in peace Bernie Mac.

Tribute For Legends

JET pays tribute to comedic legend Bernie Mac in next week’s issue. His untimely death has definitely sent shock waves throughout the entertainment world and affected millions of fans. Bernie Mac was one of the greatest to ever do it and will be sorely missed. JET also paid tribute to legendary singer/songwriter Isaac Hayes who died of a stroke on Sunday. Both will be missed.

The sudden death of legendary comedian and actor Bernie Mac has thrown the world into a bit of a shock being that he was only 50 years old and was being treated for pneumonia. In an exclusive interview with People Bernie Mac’s sister-in-law gives more insight.

Bernie Mac’s wife and daughter were with him until the very end, says the late comic’s sister-in-law in a personal and touching interview with PEOPLE that took place Saturday.

We regret to inform you that comedian Bernie Mac died this morning (Saturday) in a Chicago area hospital from complications to pneumonia. Bernie Mac was 50 years old. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Bernie Mac is convalescing after being diagnosed with pneumonia.

“Bernie Mac is in stable condition in a Chicago-area hospital,” says the spokesperson’s statement. “He is responding well to treatment and hopes to be released in the next few weeks. His family thanks everyone for the well wishes and concern.”
