Damon Dash: The Day I Stopped Doing Music The Industry Went Down

Posted by Media Outrage on November 30, 2008

jim-jones-dame-dash

Jim Jones and Damon Dash sat down for yet another interview but this time with NyMag.com. We wonder sometimes do people think before they allow their mouth to even form certain words? Our guess with Dame is H to the NO! Jim and Dame had a lot to say about the mark they’re going to leave on the music industry. Dame even mentioned that Jim’s upcoming album will be in the same league as Jay-Z’s “Reasonable Doubt” and Dre’s “The Chronic.” We know, we know, you’re still shaking your head also. Somewhere Stacey Dash is probably working on a name change as we speak.

Via NyMag:

Could you see that Dipset was falling apart, that Cam’ron wasn’t going to maintain his place in the industry?
Jones: I just know there were a lot of things going on. You find out who really wants to be around one another once money comes into play. See, for a minute, it was one-sided. He was the breadwinner, obviously. For the most part, I was just trying to stay above water, because I wasn’t in the streets hustling anymore. I finally figured out what I needed to do to get enough money to control my own destiny in the industry. [But] we were like brothers. That was a hard blow. They see [Cam] in Harlem all the time and stuff like that. I don’t think he’s hiding underneath a cave or anything like that. But the communication between us doesn’t exist. Okay Viv…

Vivica Fox hit up the Paradise 24, 20th Anniversary Reunion on Thanksgiving looking pretty radiant. Vivica seems to have given her routine surgical sessions a rest and thus far it’s working out pretty well for her grill piece. Even though Vivica has entered into her 40’s and she and Tyra are still in competition to see who’s hairline can recede faster, she still looks good.

Villified By The Media

Rev. Jeremiah Wright expressed some thoughts about how the media villified him and attempted to assassinate his character. Wright also spoke candidly about Barack Obama’s historical win.

Via Eurweb:

In Chicago, Rev. Jeremiah Wright spoke for two hours with WVON’s Cliff Kelley on everything from being glad that Obama was elected to the way he was portrayed in the media. He made his most extensive comments to date about Barack Obama and the race for the presidency during a radio interview Tuesday evening.

In his interview he insisted that the person that America grew accustomed to seeing — portrayed in snippets of past sermons — isn’t who he really is and even as he watched with pride on election night, he said he’s disappointed to still find himself as fodder for the media. You just have to wonder what the F*ck is going on now a days when you can’t even shop safely on Black Friday without 2 men pulling gats out in a toy store and bustin’ caps at one another. 2 men are dead after a brawl broke out in a California Toys R Us.

Via MSNBC:

PALM DESERT, Calif. – Two men pulled guns and shot each other to death in a crowded toy store Friday after the women with them erupted into a bloody brawl, witnesses said. Scared shoppers fled but no one else was hurt.

The violence erupted on Black Friday, the traditional post-Thanksgiving start of the holiday shopping surge, but authorities indicated the shooting wasn’t related to a shopping frenzy.

Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Dennis Gutierrez said the fight was not over a toy. He said handguns were found by the men’s bodies, but he released little other information. He would not answer a question about whether the shooting was gang-related. Read the rest of this entry »

Keyshia Cole’s sister calls Sanaa Lathan a B*tch

Posted by Media Outrage on November 30, 2008

While exiting a club, some dude Sanaa Lathan was holding hands with happened to bump Keyshia Cole’s oldest sister Dewanna Cole and she turned and called Sanaa a beeeyoooootch. Judging from the video does Sanaa seem a little stuck up? Or is she just trying to avoid the cameras? Sanaa looked like she really didn’t want to be bothered. LOL @ her galloping down the block to catch up to ol’ boy.

Halle Berry was spotted on the Vancouver set of “Frankie and Alice” on Thanksgiving. “Frankie and Alice” is a film in which Halle plays a woman who suffers from multiple personality disorder. Yep Halle is definitely stretching her acting abilities. Then again, as we have said before all she really has to do is tap into that inner crazy that she possesses. If we didn’t already know better, from looking at the photos, we’d have assumed she was on set filming the Whitney Houston story.

Father & Son Time

Terrence Howard brought his son Hunter along to Paramus, New Jersey last week for the screening of “Harry… A Communication Breakdown.” Maybe little Hunter will follow in his father’s footsteps and pursue an acting career minus that awful widow’s peak of course. Hunter definitely looks like his father.

The Giants said the shooting happened Friday night and he was released from the hospital early Saturday. The team did not say which hospital Burress went to or how badly he was injured.

However, a team official told The Associated Press that Burress shot himself in a nightclub. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the team was still trying to sort out all the facts.

“Our primary concern is for Plaxico’s health and well-being, and given the circumstances, we are relieved to say he was released from a New York City hospital,” the Giants said in a statement. Read the rest of this entry »

Ashanti took part in the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade in NYC. We’re sure New Yorkers were excited to get a glance at their favorite hometown chanteuse. Regardless of what people say about her vocals, she’s still one sexy muthasucka.
