The Art of SETTING US BACK 250 Years…

T Pain and his big ass chain performed in Houston two nights ago at Venue 27 during the Red Star Soul Concert.  We kid and joke and will say that we have no idea why T Pain rocks this chain.  It might have some sort of symbolism and meaning to him that is obviously hid from the rest of world.  More power to him in his endeavors of setting black people back everywhere…..

Ashanti and Nelly hit up TJ’s DJ’s Taste makers DJ/Music Conference in Houston on Friday. Bun B and Chamillionaire and former making the band member Chopper who probably has a nice position at that franchise with the golden arches also attended the conference.

Celebs speak out against acquittal

Ice Cube, Chamillionaire, and Al Sharpton are among the many millions that are totally disgusted with the lack of justice we saw Friday when the judge acquitted all 3 officers in the shooting death of Sean Bell in which they fired 50 shots at an unarmed man hitting him 16 times. This is definitely a disgusting travesty of what is supposed to be justice in America. It reminds black people of the Jim Crow era in which African Americans never received a fair shot in a court room. It also sends a loud message to youth that already do not trust the law, that the police will not be held accountable when they use excessive force, break the law, and murder innocent civilians. It tells black people that society values the lives of corrupt police officers more than regular people.

“I think that we need a cross-section of groups to come together,” Sharpton said from his National Action Network headquarters in Harlem. “We need to sit down immediately and plan a strategy and make it international, with the goals being a structural change in policing. I believe we can get to the federal government. Then we’re going to wait again for another trial. There’s something wrong with the law, and we must change that.”

Bun B talks about pimp c, lil’wayne, and sipping syrup

Bun B spoke to Complex and had these things to say about the sipping syrup craze…

C: Do ever think of what you could’ve done to address Pimp’s syrup habit?
Bun B: Not really, I can’t really say Pimp had a habit like that. I know people who sip way more syrup than Pimp C. At the end of the day, any physician will tell you sleep apnea was a lot more detrimental to bringing him to death. If he hadn’t had sleep apnea and was just sipping syrup he probably could’ve lived forever. But having sleep apnea and not sipping syrup, he still could’ve died. Reggie White died from sleep apnea, there’s a lot of different people that passed away from it. It’s just a matter of respecting the time you have with everyone else in your life more than anything.

C: Now there’s a lot of talk of Wayne having an addiction. He’s even addressed it. Have you reached out to him about it at all?

Pimp C’s funeral service will be on thursday

Chad Butler aka Pimp C will be laid to rest on Thursday Dec 13 in his beloved hometown of Port Arthur, according to a statement released Monday by his longtime publicist.

The memorial service is set to take place at the Robert A. “Bob” Bowers Civic Center in Texas. The funeral will be open to public and begin at 11 a.m.

Bun B….

“I just thank the fans for not being afraid to call in and say how much they loved him,” he added. “Because his family and friends and myself included, we all need to hear that, and it’s good to know that. I’m not alone right now. It’s really good to know that, and I thank them for it. And I love them and he loved them, too.”

XM Radio’s “RAW” XM 66 pays tribute to Pimp C

XM Remembers Pimp C

XM’s uncut hip hop channel, “RAW” (XM 66), will remember the life and legacy of Chad “Pimp C” Butler with a special broadcast on Friday, December 7. XM RAW’s tribute to Pimp C will feature music from his influential hip hop group UGK, as well remembrances from Three 6 Mafia, Scarface, Rick Ross, DJ Drama, David Banner, and many others.

XM’s Pimp C tribute special will air on RAW this Friday, Decemeber 7 at 9 am ET, with encore broadcasts on Saturday, December 8, at 2 pm ET, and Sunday, December 9, at 4 pm ET.

Pimp C’s mother speaks about her son’s sudden death

Pimp C’s mother spoke to a local news station about the death of her son Chad Butler.

“Actually, we have very little idea of what happened, “C’s business manager found his body in his hotel room in Los Angeles and we know he died in his sleep. Past that, we don’t know anything.”

“This is a terrible shock,” added Monroe, “Mama is just a little tougher than most, but I break too.” Pimp’s mom said she has received tremendous support from family, friends, artists and other entertainers. “The phone won’t stop ringing. It feels good, if anything can feel good now,” she explained, remembering how much Pimp C loved the Port Arthur, Tex. community: “He loved PA … Even when he came home he chose to live here. And to be honest, I wasn’t sure of it. But he was, this was his choice.”

The 33-year-old rapper, real name Chad Butler, died yesterday at Hollywood’s Mondrian Hotel. He is survived by his wife and three children. He, along with Bun B, made up the Houston rap duo UGK. Funeral plans are pending.

Pimp C might have died of natural causes

Coronors in West Hollywood have told TMZ that Pimp C might have died of natural causes.

Via TMZ:

“Capt. Ed Winter of the L.A. County Coroner’s office tells TMZ that it appears as though rapper Pimp C died of natural causes in a Hollywood hotel room today.

We’re told no drug paraphernalia or other drugs were found in the room. The rapper, we’ve learned, was found fully clothed on top of the bed. He did not seem to have fallen or injured himself and he was positioned on his side.

Winter said it did not appear that there was anyone else in the room at the time of his death. An autopsy will be performed and toxicology test results will be available in six to eight weeks.

Pimp C, whose real name is Chad Butler, was one half of the Houston rap duo UGK.”

Pimp C found dead this morning in his hollywood hotel

Rapper Pimp C was found dead in his hotel room in Hollywood this morning. He was 33.

“Pimp C, real name Chad Butler — and one half of the rap duo UGK, was found dead in a hotel room this morning. He was 33.

L.A. County Fire responded to a 911 call at the Mondrian Hotel, located on trendy Sunset Strip in Hollywood. They arrived to his sixth floor hotel room to find him dead in bed.”
