It’s never that bad

Posted by Media Outrage on September 13, 2008

Everyday we wake up is another opportuninty to be tremendously thankful for the many blessings in our lives. Someone may be saying to themselves right now ‘I don’t know what they’re talking about, because my life is a mess. I owe bills I’m far from happy, don’t have the job I want, the mate I want, the car I want, enough money to make ends meet, and emotionally I’m just tore up’. Even still with all of that being your current state of mind you still woke up today with an opportunity to first say thank you and then use your abilities and energy to change those circumstances.

For those who live in the United States. We should never wake up ungrateful. What we classify as poverty here in this great country is considered luxury in certain third world countries. You have running water, air condition, heat, homes, apartments, vehicles, jobs, healthcare, a democratic government, and best of all limitless educational institutions. There are third world countries in which people live in huts with dirt for floors, have no running water, vaccines for disease, healthcare, vehicles, right to participate in any religion they choose, and live under dictatorship. They do not have the luxury of getting an education. There are no teachers, institutions of learning, hospitals, or other foundations set up with the sole purpose of providing assistance to it’s citizens. And we dare complain? Pure comedy

Posted by Media Outrage on May 30, 2008

Once again FoxNews seems to have a problem with Reverends/Priest/Ministers/People/Black People/Any Color People/Talking Parrots/Government Officials/Aliens who know English and anyone else who dares to show they have BIG GIANT BALLS by speaking the unadulterated truth. In this segment of FoxNews hate, they have now begun running a (bull sh*t ass) clip of Father Michael Pfleger (A white Priest who happens to be friends with Sen. Barack Obama-Key words- happens to be friends with Sen. Barack Obama) speaking the truth in the same pulpit that Rev. Jeremiah Wright spoke the TRUTH in and he imitated Hillary Clinton so now he’s evil. Funny how this same FoxNews nor any other major media outlets are making a big deal out of Liz Trotta’s hateful language in which she suggested in a supposed joke, that someone assassinate Sen. Barack Obama. Hmm doesn’t make sense to you either does it? One guy speaks truth in a pulpit and jokingly imitates Hilary Clinton and it’s all over the news, but another lady who happens to be a seasoned FoxNews analyst jokingly suggest someone kill a man running for the highest office in this country and…..crickets…… All we can do is laugh. Why Obama’s Pastor’s comments aren’t racist or anti-American

Posted by Media Outrage on March 21, 2008

We have sat back and watched as the media has painted Barack Obama’s former Pastor Jeremiah Wright as a racist and anti American. We can’t hold our peace anymore. Foxnews’ Bill O’Reilly aired the clips and labeled Rev. Wright a racist and anti American for what??? Telling the truth. Let’s just keep it all the way 100. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was labeled anti American during his fight for civil rights, basic rights that every human is born with. The media labeled Malcolm X as militant and racist because he spoke against the hypocrisy of the United States of America, how they could be fighting a war in Vietnam for freedom and justice when black people in America weren’t even free and were still being Lynched at alarming rates. So let’s jump into the discussion at hand regarding Rev. Jeremiah Wrights alleged incendiary comments (Folk crack us up with these words). Read the rest of this entry »

No such thing as ‘Nappy’ hair!

Posted by Media Outrage on March 8, 2008

Hair

We here at Mediaoutrage enjoy entertaining you day in and day out while feeding you the latest in celebrity gossip and news, but we promised ourselves that we would also attempt to inform and educate. Nothing wrong with having a great time and laughing but sometimes it’s just important to highlight the ignorance.

We appreciate and read all of the comments left on this site every day, so there is nothing that gets by us, trust that. We noticed a few comments left under a Beyonce and Jay-Z article (read the comments under) and we decided to express some of our honest thoughts, but not just because of the comments, but because we hear this ignorant term used every day.

We want to say in reference to the texture of African American hair that there is no such thing as ‘nappy’. We googled the word ‘nappy‘ and a lot of pictures popped up. We went to webster and looked up the definition of ‘nappy‘ and this is what they had to say: 1. Said especially of the hair of blacks and used derogatorily or contemptuously.

Black people’s hair is naturally curly and grows in coils from the roots. That is why we are able to grow afros and produce that spring effect. The word ‘nappy’ was assigned during the slave era as a badge of degradation, just like the word ‘nigger’, ‘coon’, and countless other demeaning monikers. To refer to your hair or your brother or sister’s hair as nappy insinuates that you are ashamed of who you are and what you were born with. Saying something in a jokingly manner but not believing it is totally different then saying something and believing it. We are saying that to say that there are a lot of black people that use this ignorant terminology in everyday conversation and really feel this way then that is a problem. Thinking that having straight hair is better than what you were born with, puts you on a lower level than those with straight hair right??? We understand why black women straighten their hair and that’s cool because that is their choice to rock whatever style they like. But when we hear people say ‘he has that good hair’ because he’s black and happens to have straight and wavy hair it speaks ignorance extremely loud. But if his hair is tightly curled which a lot of us would describe as ‘peasy’ or ‘nappy’ then he has bad hair??? These are the effects of being enslaved for hundreds of years and taught that you were 3/5ths of a human being, property, dumb, animals, ‘niggers’, slaves, and many more degrading things. So we in turn carry this slave (less than) mentality on and teach it to our children by using these terrible descriptions of our natural features. It’s a bad thing in our society to be too ‘dark’ (ignorance). Being ‘too’ dark is just possessing an abundance of melanin that is actually a blessing that has never been taught on (we wonder why?). Why hasn’t Oprah done a teaching on the benefits of melanin on one of her 100,000 shows with Dr. OZ on the human body and health? Don’t want to give blacks any ammunition to combat ignorance and promote self esteem (Not directed at Oprah but in general).

Now once again we love to have a great time and on this site you will read language that seems ignorant, disrespectful, offensive, and every other non positive meaning that you can think of lol lol because this is entertainment and no we are not on some black power trip either but just wanted to post something from the heart that would be informative and because we felt like it.

Baby got backs

Posted by Media Outrage on February 9, 2008

Vida Guerra

Vida Guerra was recently out and about looking her regular sexy self. If she ever lands a role in a legitimate film or TV show and is able to display an inch of talent she could possibly secure herself an acting career but then again who knows. We just know this, if Ice T can hold down his role on ‘Law and Order’ for the past 9 years and Diddy could secure a role with Halle Berry it can’t be acting talent (which both of them have very little of) that lands roles in Hollywood. Because till this day we don’t understand how the Hughes Brothers (the makers of Menace II Society) got drunk and high enough to actually think that the acting in ‘Baby Boy’ with Tyrese was good enough to move a blind person. Yes you probably had blind folk cussing in brail at that bull ish! Worst black movie EVER!!! So it’s definitely not the skills that count. Because you give us a palm recorder and a 3rd grade writer and we could produce a better flick. Cuba Gooding Jr.’s brother’s acting in that movie was the WORST we might have ever seen! SMH that they thought that movie was good we guess that after Menace (which was the best black gangsta film ever) they hit a creative ceiling.

America has never been ready

Posted by Media Outrage on February 9, 2008

Barack Obama

There are certain statements that when made really can irritate our ears because they just don’t make real sense. 50’s recent comment about America not being ready for a black president are now at the top of our list. Here’s why that statement that we hear a lot from our own people no longer holds weight and is probably just an excuse or psychological manifestation of one’s own fear and very present slave mentality.

Let’s examine this statement that every one and they mamma has heard since Obama announced that he was running for the highest office in the land. We want to first say that America has never been ready. America was not ready to abolish the very lucrative and extremely inhumane African Slave Trade, but they did and it still continued. America definitely wasn’t ready to stand behind the Emancipation Proclimation but they did and our people were still held in bondage. America wasn’t ready to allow us to vote, be educated, integrate schools, own land, realestate, or ride at the front of a bus but they did and do you know why? Because our people sacrificed their lives and fought with every bit of their beings to be equal which by the way is every individual’s God Given Right. America wasn’t ready to stop the lynchings, fire bombing of our churches, houses and schools but they did because we fought for change. America wasn’t ready to issue us our civil rights but Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, Medgar Evans, and many more laid down their lives to attain it. So it just gets beside us when we hear our own people say ‘America isn’t ready for a Black President’ and ‘they would kill him or her’ well for the leader of any nation the threat of violence is significantly higher than the normal citizen but we can’t allow fear to cripple us from pursuing our goals and passions. America wasn’t ready to give women the right to vote and now Hillary Clinton is running for President of the United States. Change. So step out of that box that was molded for you and remember that just 40-50 years ago things were a whole lot different for us but look at things now because of change. America wasn’t ready for Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, Jessie Owens, Marion Anderson, Oprah and a whole long list of others but they made it and took it period. So let’s stop making that senseless, powerless, and super ignorant statement about a ‘Black President’. Remember Fear cripples and Faith heals. Bottom line you shouldn’t give a damn if America is ready or not.

Rihanna Vs Beyonce??? stop the nonsense

Posted by Media Outrage on February 7, 2008

BeyonceRihanna

Ok we had to address this ridiculous nonstop comparison of Beyonce and Rihanna. We have received a lot of emails asking who we think is better? Are you even serious when you form your lips or send brain signals to your fingers to type some crazy nonsense like that??? We like Rihanna she is starting to come into her own but let us say THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON AT ALL!!!

Beyonce can sing her behind off!!! Rihanna can’t!!! Beyonce has the looks department sowed up!!! Rihanna needs to eat some more. But just to even question their talent and then attempt to compare??? You must be NUTS!!! The media has started to really embrace Rihanna and she is enjoying her little blow up stage of fame and possibly turning into a superstar with STAYING POWER. Those last two words are what people need to pay attention to. Alicia Keys has it. Beyonce has it. RiRi has to still prove herself and not to mention get a damn voice coach quick!

So who’s a bigger superstar??? Come on we know Beyonce right now is the biggest female superstar besides Madonna and wack ass Britney Spears. Now if you people would have asked us to compare Ashanti and Rihanna then that would have been a more evenly matched debate and comparison, but you can’t dare compare a mega star like B who has not only the BEAUTY but also the TALENT TALENT TALENT TALENT to match. You name a girl in the game that can out sing her. Ok Jennifer Hudson is comparable but other than that vocal skills not even Alicia Keys can match up. Yes and we love Alicia but Beyonce has a better voice way more melodious. So our answer HELL NO RIHANNA IS NOT EVEN IN THE SAME COUNTRY AS B WHEN IT COMES TO TALENT, LOOKS, FANS, ENDORSEMENTS, ALBUM SALES, AND THE LIST COULD JUST KEEP ON GOING BUT like we said before we like Rihanna but the media is doing their best to turn her into the next something but unless she trades vocal cords with the likes of Jennifer Holiday, Mariah Carey, or a pre-crack Whitney Houston she and the rest of you RiRi daydreamers can Forget About It. But don’t take our word go to YouTube and check out a Beyonce live concert and then check out a Rihanna Live concert. SMH at the mere thought.
