Our girl Sanaa Lathan sat down with VIBE for an interview about her role in The Family That Preys and future projects. Peep game below…

VIBE.com: The Family That Preys had a pretty good reception.  What do you think really appealed to the audience about the film?

Sanaa Lathan: Well I think in this particular film it had themes in it that are classic themes that everybody goes through. I mean we all know what it’s like to have family sibling rivalry. We all know what it’s like to deal with people who are committing adultery or deal with people who have ambition. So these are all themes that are universal in terms of the human experience and Tyler, what makes him so special is he’s able to portray that in his movies in a very entertaining way. And in this movie there was a lot of scandalous stuff going on and some of that can be really fun to watch. Read the rest of this entry »

Book Signing

Posted by Media Outrage on January 27, 2009

steve-harvey

Steve Harvey was at the Borders in Penn Plaza in NYC on Monday signing copies of his book “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.” We have absolutely no idea what the book is about. How many of you will be supporting Steve by going out and purchasing a copy or two? With his highly rated radio show he shouldn’t have problems selling a few copies. On a scale of 1-10 where would you rank Steve’s stand-up comedy?

Lisa Raye sat down with Essence for a chat about her personal life and the turmoil she went through with her husband.

Via Essence:

ESSENCE.COM: Nice to hear from you. You’ve laid low since all the hoopla surrounding your marriage to Turks and Caicos Premier Michael Misick. How have you been holding up?
LISARAYE McCOY-MISICK:
Why is it that people don’t embrace one another when we’re going through a tough time? Some of the things I read about me were so wrong and hurtful, but I am fine. It’s okay to move forward because things happen. Does it hurt? Yes. Am I disappointed? Incredibly. But this too shall pass. Read the rest of this entry »

Via Eurweb:

“I’m pretty amused by the whole thing,” Winfrey told Gayle King’s Sirius satellite radio program. “My plan was to get up and watch ‘Good Morning America and work out. Then I thought: ‘Let me just lay here another half hour.'”

“If I had been watching,” she added, “as I (normally) watch, from the treadmill, I would have fallen off the treadmill.” Read the rest of this entry »
